Given the climate in this country, I wanted to share something that I saw on a church sign recently that I think sums up the situation:  "WOKE" IS DARKNESS, CHRIST IS LIGHT!  Certainly something to think about!

 SEPTEMBER 15, 2020 UDPATE:

In our last update for August 15th, I stated that I did not want this site to become unnecessarily political.  The following statement is not a political one but one which comes from strongly held religious beliefs and a conviction that it is the duty of the faithful to expose lies and hypocrisy when misinformation will mislead believers and be to the detriment of souls. While as humans, we are all typically guilty at some point in our lives of such behaviors, it usually does not affect significant numbers of people and we are subsequently “called out on it” by those we love.  We then have the opportunity to “set things right”.

Presently there are outright lies and much hypocrisy being perpetuated by people who were baptized into the Catholic faith.  While these folks may be baptized Catholics and claim that they are living out their faith, the truth is that they are misleading enormous numbers of people and promoting false information about what the Church and its faithful believe.  I beg all of my friends, Catholic and non-Catholic alike, to read this update.  It is important that we all be respectful of individual beliefs but we must understand the basic tenets that are the foundation of our beliefs and not disseminate falsehoods.

Much has been said about our presidential candidates and their respective beliefs.  As a faithful, though admittedly sinful Catholic, I respect the beliefs of all people of all faiths.  I have consistently demonstrated this throughout my life and have many friends who often share similar values and ideals without sharing the same faith.  I also have friends who express no particular faith but continue to live their lives in a way consistent with respect for themselves and others. While I respect that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, individuals are NOT ALLOWED to misrepresent the beliefs of a particular religion and attempt to convince others of things that are blatantly untrue.  I will not vote for a candidate based on their faith but for one that best represents what I believe and one that I feel will follow God’s law in an effort to promote man’s law.

At present, I am scandalized that there have been not just politicians but also members of various religious orders, (some who are supposed to be our “shepherds”), that have misrepresented Catholic beliefs.  As I have suggested before, I urge all of you to search for the TRUTH and not accept what is being spoon-fed by the media and “so-called” journalists.  I have offered some valid websites below which give the true teaching (many websites and publications claim to espouse Catholic teaching but in fact they do not.  For anyone interested, you may contact us and we will be happy to share with you those we know to be authentically Catholic. We have tried our best to verify all our sources as “Vatican” approved and consistent with Church teaching).

While I respect that everyone has a different relationship with our Lord, Catholics are not allowed to misrepresent the faith to others and at present, we have several “Catholic” politicians (not just one of our presidential candidates) doing just that.  Regardless of who you choose to vote for, you should know the TRUTH about that person and insure that what they say is accurate. Being a Catholic is not just about the ashes on your forehead on Ash Wednesday for a photo op or having “misrepresentatives” of your faith speaking for you.  The links that follow clearly outline what is expected of Catholic politicians and those in public life.  I strongly suggest that my Catholic friends read the proffered information to fully understand what is expected of us in public life and that my non-Catholic friends understand what it truly means when someone says they are “Catholic” and insure that the one saying it is truly living out what they say they believe.  I can tolerate many things in life but I despise hypocrisy and lying and I am angered when our leaders fail to call out such outrageous behaviors.  If you choose not to follow the teachings of the faith into which you were baptized, that is your choice, but you DO NOT possess the right to misrepresent that faith.

The Catholic Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in the document from the second website above, clearly states as it relates to Catholics in public life and the Church’s stance on abortion:

“Catholics, in this difficult situation, have the right and the duty to recall society to a deeper understanding of human life and to the responsibility of everyone in this regard. John Paul II, continuing the constant teaching of the Church, has reiterated many times that those who are directly involved in lawmaking bodies have a ‘grave and clear obligation to oppose’ any law that attacks human life.”

While the document is somewhat lengthy, it is an important document for anyone concerned about equality, moral relativism and the dignity of the human person.  Also, in the same document, we are reminded of those that were willing to sacrifice their lives for their beliefs.  We can never forget the brave men and women that were willing to die rather than denounce their faith.

“Though subjected to various forms of psychological pressure, Saint Thomas More refused to compromise, never forsaking the constant fidelity to legitimate authority and institutions which distinguished him; he taught by his life and his death that man cannot be separated from God, nor politics from morality."

Again, I urge all of you to seek the TRUTH and call-out hypocrisy and lies. In these trying times, our country needs courageous people of faith to promote the teachings of Christ in our ACTIONS AND OUR WORDS. We must act with JUSTICE AND MERCY.  Remember the words of the great saint of mercy, St. Faustina:

“May Your mercy, O Lord, rest upon me. You Yourself command me to exercise the three degrees of mercy. The first: the act of mercy, of whatever kind. The second: the word of mercy — if I cannot carry out a work of mercy, I will assist by my words. The third: prayer — if I cannot show mercy by deeds or words, I can always do so by prayer. My prayer reaches out even there where I cannot reach out physically.”

May God bless you and this great country.

AUGUST 15, 2020 UPDATE:

While I don't want this site to become unnecessarily political, I want everyone to know where this organization stands with regard to issues facing this country (for more information see the About Us" section of our site or contact us).  First and foremost, please know that we believe that God's law not only eclipses man's law, but in our country, and according to our founding documents, is supposed to assist in forming man's law.  We believe that social issues are paramount and should help to form policy on all other issues.  We believe that our elected officials should live out their faith in GOD when making policies that affect the lives of this country's citizens.  If we all truly live our lives in a Christ-like manner, we will have the love, wisdom and respect to impart those ideals which insure concern for all citizens and make a great society.

With important elections coming up, each of us as individuals need to find out the TRUTH about the candidates.  We need to know that they support the same values and freedoms we hold dear.  Don't simply pay attention to what those in the media or on social media are saying.  DO SOME RESEARCH and find out the TRUTH.  If someone is called a "racist" or a "bigot" demand to know why and find out what they have said or done that makes them a "bigot" or a "racist".  If they claim to espouse certain ideals of their faith, insure that they are faithful to what they say they believe and that those ideals match what you wish to have represent YOU and your family.  Research the candidate's claims and insure that what they say fits with what they have done in the recent past.  There is some serious misinformation floating around and the CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY NEED TO KNOW THE TRUTH.  It is important to know who will be running YOUR city, YOUR state and YOUR country!  Make sure elected officials have the best interest of the people at heart and that they express and LIVE the values that are important to YOU.  May God Bless you and our great country.
